Can I replace the memory controller chip on the motherboard?
It seems that the small heat sink object near the CPU fell off and the computer has been running without it for an unknown amount of time. As it stands the computer will start up but shortly afterwords the processes will all freeze. I think the controller chip maybe fried from to much use without the heat sink but if that’s the case can I replace it without replacing the motherboard?
That’s different and kinda funny too. You could try Super Glue or 5 min. epoxy but i don’t think it will work but you have nothing to loose.
